Weekends..hmmmm (the death of a diet)

As a massive yoyo dieter the weekends normally spell trouble for me, and my body.

The weekends that hold the rubbish weather are even worse, stuck in the house with 2 bored kids, fed up of crafty stuff and painting for the day, don't want to watch telly nor play the xbox/ds, leads to a stressed out mummy and 2 grumpy kids.

With the kids not being at school i also have to find a daily workout that works with the kids, today it was a top to bottom clean of the house, literally.
The way i figure it is if I'm sweating I'm burning some flab!!

By evening I'm craving wine and munchies, this is not good not good at all :(

So what happened???..... when i felt like i was going to lose it i put on some music and did a workout - at 10pm at night..hahaha

So this is just a little input to some of my fav workout songs and some easy workouts you can do in the home at night without the need of much or any equipment!!

Okay so for £1 from home bargains or the pound store you can buy a skipping rope, mine is lethal!! (love you for buying it though Billy x) its wire wrapped plastic and if you miss, boy you get punished for it ;)

Skipping is sooo simple, but a 10 min skipping workout can equal an hour at the gym!! google it if you don't believe me!!

It can be more difficult than it sounds though, to begin with my stamina was 0 - so i could manage 1 min constant skipping MAX.
Now however its 5 mins, still working my way up to the 10 and i know i'll get there.

You can use skipping as a workout on its own, or as a warm up. I did some good old fasioned star jumps and star jumps with a sort of knee lift.
Dont ditch the good old fashioned workouts from long ago, they worked and as a home workout its free and there is so much you can do.
Star jumps, lunges, burpees, step ups, running on the spot (try this full pelt for 30 secs, it aint easy)
Sit ups, press ups.

These all can be done in a small enough area, with no equipment...bargain!!

I like to have my ipod for music, i like it nice and loud, for motivation and also so i cant hear myself dying (heehee)

So for tonight my workout was mainly to Deadmau5 and the album 4x4=12 - this dj is one of my up most favourites for pushing myself to, the "doof doof"music keeps me going, and when skipping its better for me to have an upbeat ...well beat to work too.

For my "kettle bell" workout ( i don't have a kettle bell, so i make do with 1 of Billy's free weights, with some of the lighter weights on) i was playing ACDC yes that's right..haha i love working out with them.
Again if you dont have weights, anything weighty (lol) will do, heck a tin of beans or a bag of sugar would work perfectly.

I kept with the ACDC for my tummy exercises also (mainly sit ups and sit up twists)

Then onto cool down my song for stretching and cooling down today was Domino and Laserlight by Jessie J - now sing along...yes i know what you are going to say, but singing concentrates your breaking getting it into a regular rhythm again...
Make sure you stretch, we all know the old no pain no gain, but trust me if you dont stretch you will regret it.

And that was it - remember!! WATER WATER WATER!! don't let yourself get dehydrated you will only end up feeling dizzy and sh*tty.

Once cool that's me shower jammies and bed... with laptop to update on here :)

as always feel free to comment..  x

Going for weight loss GOAAAL... **UPDATE**

Just a quick update as to how things are going.

Week 1

My biggest fight this week was food. I know some wont understand this and some will. I had 2 nights where i really really wanted something anything to snack on.....so i did a bottle of water and a piece of mint gum.

I'm not really a water drinker either so that another hurdle I'm beginning to get over. So far each day I'm drinking 3-4 bottles along with 1 or 2 glasses of diluted juice.

Food hmmm yeah foood

Each meal had been planned time wise more than contents wise i have to admit.

So I'm not going to bore you with the exact details of what I've ate down the last micro, but i will give you an idea of what I'm taking in, in case your interested ;)

So breakfast:

Porridge  (again something that's new to me, but i love the oat so simple with syrup one, they are yummy)
Bottle of water/glass of water or juice

Lunch:

*Normally sandwich
or
*baked pot
or
*chicken and brown rice
*****WATER*****
(i tend to make lunch my main meal, giving me the afternoon and evening to burn any carbs. )

Little tip i found and quite like - if you have a meal with your partner and they have a full plate - have yours on a side plate, trick of the mind. Your eyes still see a full plate, only its less than half the size!!

Evening meal:

I'm going for the most weight loss i can achieve so its never carbs of any kind.

I'll have a weight loss shake (with soya milk)
A cuppa soup

Or chicken with green beans / peas /any veg you want (except potato)
**WATER WATER***

Another tip...
Before eating any meal, have a glass of water, this will mean that there is something already in your tummy so you will find that you wont eat as much, as you will fill up quicker.
Also chewing gum between meals (low fat mint if poss) helps with hunger pangs and snacking.

Lets face it, water has so many benefits not only for weight loss, but skin and overall well being, drink it up!!

Snacks -
okay by snacks i mean fruit, munch your heart out on as much fruit and veg as you want throughout the day, but i found that eating after 8pm would mean its not getting digested, so i tend to eat nothing after 6pm - 7pm latest.

Exercise!!!

hell yeah!!

Okay so I'm turning into a little bit of a gym nut, and i got Mon-Fri  (whilst the little ones are at nursery/school)
I only go for 1hr per day, which might not sound like alot, but when you add in cleaning the house and running around after 2 small kids all day.
Plus i do evening exercise also, not every night but most nights i like to do something.

Okay so I'm working on H.I.T  (High Intensity Training) - sounds hard and it is but give it a go please...
My partner introduced me to this, and at first i wasn't sure but now i do it everyday.

I do the bike mostly - so i do 2 mins of a warm up getting everything going, and i do 30 sec bursts of all out fast as i can go (yes you will get looks if its a gym like mine, but i dont care i have my ipod in and I'm here to lose weight not to impress people)

So 30 secs of all out pedal to the meeettttaaaal aaaaaaaahhhhhhh and ease of DONT STOP, ease off back to normal pace for another 2 mins and go again YEEEHHHAAAA.

Tip time: my biggest problem area is my flabby tummy, 3 c-sections have taken there toll. So i like to wear a sweat/sauna band around my mid. You get them on ebay for £3-4 and they just intensify the heat to the mid section whilst you work out.
beware however it is completely rank when you take it off as your tummy is soaked in sweat ewwww.

Lets try and sum this first week up:

A little tough at nights still, but getting alot better (i think my tummy must be shrinking so I'm not feeling the hunger as much)

Exercise can and should be fun - best evening exercise my xbox kinect and dance games (my fav right now is the black eyed peas :))
If you don't have a computer, do anything skipping, step up on the door step, put the music on and jive around like a nutter at a rave for 30 mins, just get the body moving and sweating (i always sweat its gross but means I'm working my body)

 the all important WEIGH IN

at the end of week 1 im happy with my progress

21/6/2012....... 11st 8 / 74kg = 6lb loss or 2kg loss

GOAL WEIGHT  - 60 kg

Okay okay okay shut up and let's read it then......

So everyone is talking about this book, you know the one I'm talking about before I even say it.... Yes that's right it's 50 shades of grey.

 (picture from google image search)

Well apparently anyone who is anyone is reading these novels.
Now I see myself as a multi genre reader. If its good then I'll read it everything from sci fi novels to crime to fantasy to real life, but I have to admit this will be my first erotic novel.

Now, again apparently this is for my age range, and my... Eh what do u call it.
Anyway it's a big hit with women anyway, it's all over my Facebook from my old work colleagues to my distant bump buddies.

So here goes..... Page 1.... I'm quite a quick reader, so I will see u shorty and let you know what I think.

Ok so just less than 24 hours later and I'm 65% of the way through..

Ideas so far...

Characters are fun, believable to a point, familiar?

The way she has narrated the book is interesting, not convinced i like this way of writing. Sometimes is seems a bit jumbled, and there are a few pages mainly the "contract" that are repeated..
I don't see the need for that if I'm honest.

(note at this point, e-reader book constantly have strange spelling and grammar mistakes throughout, this is very strange).

It is so far as it has been so often described... housewife porn lol.

This book is H.O.T.T hot and explores a different side to a "relationship" so easily offended people may not enjoy it. I however I'm not easily offended, which is just as well.

A good point to note is the fact that its less than 24hrs and I'm more than halfway through, which points to and easy to read and intriguing book, all be it hot sauce and spice

as a mid-way review i shall sum up in: A good read, with plenty of sauce .

we shall see how it unfolds in the last half of the book...

 Im dooooone........

Well.. what can i say, it dips slightly in the middle but by the end i was in tears, no i do have to admit I'm a hopeless ball of emotions at the best of times, but i was shocked, if I'm totally honest i can see what the fuss is about now i really honestly and completely can, massive :)

So lets try and some this one up without giving too much away..

An erotic and captivating novel, that also holds a strong romantic love story and a battle between a woman her needs, wants and desires.
Will i be reading the rest of the trilogy.....hell yes.

As always you thoughts and comments are more than welcome....

Sock Piggy ..OIINK OINK

Say HELLO to.......Mr Oink

Another kiddy craft idea - that costs little to 0 money and is super fun to do with you kids x

Items you will need
 - an odd sock (at last something to do with them hehe)
 - glue
 - needle and thread
 - buttons or sequins

This isnt the most stunning looking piggy, but was made by mine and my daughters own fair hands
(granted if you are good at sewing yours should come out looking alot better than mine...lol

I followed a simple how to that i found on pintrest...

this is the link to the 10 step how to for sock teddies (hers looks a million times better than mine)

http://themetapicture.com/this-is-how-you-create-a-teddy-bear-from-a-sock/

Follow the 10 steps - change what you feel like changing - as my sock was pink i went for a piggy and used buttons for the eyes and nose.

You don't have to use a plain sock either, mix it up with some spots or stripes, im working on a stripy ted for my son

Kiddy Crafts

So i've been looking at some crafty things to do with the kids on rainy days, which lets face it are becoming more and more as of late, well especially in scotty-land anyways.

So PVA and paints at the ready

3....2.....1..........BLAAAST OFFFFFFFF!!!!!!

This was a pretty simple make, my 5yr old and my 3yr old both loved doing this.

Only things you need:
Empty juice bottles
Old newspaper
PVA glue - mixed 50/50 with water

Kids paints
Glitter or gems /stars
Or stickers

Step  1

Paper mache the bottles until you have covered all the plastic
wait for it to dry :)

Step 2

Paint the rockets any colours you like :)
Wait for the paint to dry

Step 3

Decorate
and again wait for glue to dry,

ready for Lift-off!!!!

Total costs - if you have paints and glue etc then nothing, if not.... it cost me less than £10 for ready mixed paints in large bottles, PVA glue and lots of gems and stickers and glitter and stars.

Snug as a bug in a Cowl ......

And here it is all finished,

And on...

was a simple enough stitch, although i've done it a bit big and it hangs lower than i would like, but that can be adjusted.

Not bad for a first attempt i think :)

I do love my big flowers :)

And now.....

On with some granny squares for my blankie

Current Crafty projects :)

As part of my weight loss program i struggle alot with evenings and snacking, so i've taken up knitting and crochet again, more so crochet so far, but im sure there will be knitting in the future.

yes i knit and crochet and no im not 80 - actually im 27 years young.

So a couple of pics of my latest crafty projects.

This is an ongoing project, i use the small amounts of wool/yarn i have left over, i was going to do all stripes, but have decided to go patch work and add in some rows of granny squares...... and whatever else i can think of to "mix it up" a bit...

This is the 1st of many, they are large squares but nice and quick to make up..

And my latest one, this will be a cowl  with a large, a very large flower, hopefully it will come out looking as i have in my head.
The shell stitch is a new one to me, you gotta love youtube for that.

I am completely self taught in both knitting and crochet, of which i am very proud!!

Please feel free to comment, and or leave suggestions for my throw/blanket

Going for weight loss **GOAAAAL**

So this is it, its has been decided......

No more messing around, no more sneaking about

DIET..... BRINNNG IT OOOOOOOON!!!!!!

I have been constantly battling with my weight for pffft too long. Ive used every single excuse in the book, to name a few:

* Its harder for me to loose this weight as all 3 of my children were c-sections.
* I'll start tomorrow
* that's it I'm defo starting this weight loss for good this time
* I can only do a little as i have kids
* I cant eat diet food as I'm on a budget
* ahh but its the weekend, I'll be good again on Monday
* but i love food

So this is it, I've removed those rose tinted glasses and im moving on!! and upwards (well feeling wise, weight wise i want dooownwards)

Im very lucky to have a lovely man who supports the fatty me and the skinny me.

My struggle is going to be keeping the weight off. I tend to fluctuate not in a couple of pounds but in half stones
:O i know

So lets do this, its gonna be hard but im sure i'll get there.

Blogger readers .... beware there may be some serious ranting going on.
